Ukrainians Study Grain Logistics at ISU

This May, Iowa State University welcomed seven Cochran fellows from Ukraine.  Their training centered on improving post-harvest grain logistics and decreasing trade barriers between the United States and Ukraine. . . more

International Conference

An International Scientific Conference "Agrarian Policy of Ukraine under the Global Food, Financial and Economic Challenges" will be hosted by the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NULES).  The conference will take place October 20-21, 2016, in Kyiv, and will be devoted to the 65th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics.  For more information:  http://nubip.edu.ua/en/node/21701/1

Student Interns/Visiting Scholars Set to Study at ISU

Jessica Pestana is an undergraduate student from Londrina State University, Brazil.  Jessica will work with Dr. Thomas Lubberstedt in ISU's Department of Agronomy, August 1-November 30, 2016.  Jessica's area of study will include working on double haploid maize focusing on haploid-diploid discrimination at the Double Haploid Facility.

Samuel Kiprotich is an undergraduate student from Makerere University, Uganda, majoring in Food Science and Technology, who will be at ISU September 8-October 31, 2016.   Through an internship with CALS Global Programs, Samuel will gain an introduction to US agriculture with an emphasis on agricultural systems, business practices and Food Science specific to Iowa through visits to agricultural enterprises in Iowa.

Gilbert Asasira is a short-term visiting scholar from Uganda.  Asasira graduated from Makerere University in 2016 with a degree in General Agriculture.  Gilbert will be working with faculty in ISU's Department of Horticulture and will be involved in research activities at the Horticulture Research Station from September to October, 2016.
